  Question

How do I create a nameserver using my domain name?

  Answer

If you are running your own Domain Name System servers (DNS servers) and would like to use your domain name to create a nameserver, you may register the nameserver name and IP address with Register.com so that we may register this with the Registry.

  • Login to your account.
  • From the menu at the top select DOMAINS, advanced tools and then register DNS.
  • Use the tool in the first section of the page Register a Nameserver Name to create your nameserver.

The domain must be in your account, and each nameserver must begin with ns or dns.
Example: ns1.yourdomain.com dns2.yourdomain.net
